This hostel is situated in one of Ireland's most westerly islands. Inishbofin
is a beautiful island, 6 km in length and 3.5 km wide, with several magnificent
sandy beaches which are safe for swimming. The island (population 150) has
three hotels, a pub, restaurants, post office and one grocery shop. It is
also well known for it's excellent traditional music sessions.
The hostel itself was originally a traditional farmhouse which has been converted
into a modern hostel, retaining all the character and charm of the old
building. It's large conservatory (winter garden) offers spectacular views
of the Connemara mountains and coastline. It has a cosy sitting room, complete
with a stove and a good selection of books and magazines. We have family
rooms, private rooms and small dorms, plus a self-catering kitchen.
